Dag Herman Zeiner-Gundersen learned about the oil and energy industry while pursuing a Master of Science in marine technology. He was directing toward exploring sub-sea technology, completed his thesis on the subject and began to work in the field shortly after. He became interested in tidal energy while observing the reaction of resilient materials and wrote his PhD Thesis on flexible profile tidal turbines and later a D.Sc Thesis on innovation methods and processes.
